What fun to work on a project where they can grow a healthy food? It is easy and you will not need a lot of supplies to create the project. They are as follows:
� small piece of muslin
� glass jar
� rubber band
� seeds for sprouting
� water

Purchase seeds from your local health food store. If you buy seeds for growing in the garden, they sometimes contain chemicals.

Lay the piece of muslin flat and use a saucer to cut a round circle. The muslin will keep the seeds from falling out of the jar when you release the water. Place a large tablespoon of seeds in the glass jar (a suggestion is to use mung beans). Cover the seeds with water and let them sit for about two hours. Then, take the muslin and place it over the jar. Hold it down with the rubber band. If you wash the seeds with water three times a day and watch them grow. Before the leaves appear on the sprouts you can take out the sprouts and wash them well. This will be a delightful crunch for any salad. And it is so healthy!
