Homemade Cards

To begin this wonderful kids craft, trace your childs hand on some construction paper. Cut it out and fold it between the middle and ring finger. This is also sign language for I love you! This will easily fit in most envelopes that you can purchase. Most discount and dollar stores have a variety of envelopes in many colors and textures. You can coordinate the colors with the construction paper to make it very appealing. Write out the greeting inside the palm of the hand card and be sure to date it. This will make a lasting memory. A variation of the homemade card is to find a favorite poem. Print it out on your computer using whatever creative paper you might have or can purchase. Trace your childs hand on the paper and date it. You can also use ink or paint for the impression of the hand. Frame this wonderful treasure and wrap it for mothers day, Christmas, or any other holiday or occasion.
